Information We Collect

DrinkSmart+ collects only the information necessary to provide its core features. This may include drink entries, timestamps, and session history. Users may optionally provide profile information such as weight and gender to improve estimation accuracy. With explicit user permission, date of birth may be accessed through Apple Health. Limited app usage data may be processed to support basic functionality and reliability.

What We Do Not Collect

DrinkSmart+ does not collect or store government issued identification images. We do not retain full dates of birth for identification purposes. We do not track users across apps or websites. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data for advertising or marketing. We do not use third party advertising networks.

Age Verification

DrinkSmart+ supports age verification for users who wish to check in at venues serving alcohol. Age verification may be completed using Verify with Apple Wallet, a privacy preserving verification method provided by Apple. This process confirms age eligibility without sharing or storing government issued identification details. DrinkSmart+ does not retain copies of IDs, photos, or verification artifacts. Verification is used only to confirm eligibility at the time of use.

Data Storage and Security

Most user data is stored locally on the user’s device. Optional cloud synchronization may be used to support continuity across devices. Reasonable safeguards are used to protect user data from unauthorized access.

User Control

Users remain in control of their data. Data can be deleted at any time by removing the app. Health data access can be managed through Apple Health settings. App permissions can be reviewed and revoked within iOS system settings.

Third Party Services

DrinkSmart+ relies on Apple provided services such as Apple Health and Apple Wallet. These services operate under Apple’s own privacy policies. At this time, no additional third party services collect or retain personal data on behalf of DrinkSmart+ for age verification.

Children’s Privacy

DrinkSmart+ is intended for use by adults of legal drinking age. The app is not designed for children and does not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
